Tangle Ridge Farm
is 95 acres of rocky hills and ridge tops tops in Southern Ohio. Old pastures and clearcut acres after years of neglect were left covered with a 'Tangle" of multiflora rose, blackberries, and grape vines. We adopted this beautiful land, seeing past the bramble to its potential to become lush pasture, well drained fields and a thriving forest. We created this farm from scratch beginning in 2012. Little by little, day by day, it is becoming our little peice of paradise. The mission of Tangle Ridge Farm is to grow a small, sustainable farm using natural, humane methods, and to share our experiences and the knowledge we gain with others. As traditional family farms disappear, communities have become more urbanized and dependent, and have long forgotten the origin of their food and the traditions of their ancestors. Many young people, including my own, grow up without the experience and appreciation land, nature, and living on or near a family farm. |
Our aim is to create a beautiful retreat in these Southern Ohio hills and to provide a place to demonstrate the importance of environmental stewardship, the art of self sustainment and foster an appreciation for the land and nature. We raise heritage breed chickens and Miniature Nubian diary goats. Our chickens thrive in a pastured free range environment using no antibiotics, steroids, pesticides, hormones or chemicals. Our goats are...well... spoiled. All are G6S negative and disease tested annually. Primary products from Tangle Ridge Farm include eggs, handmade goat's milk soaps, gourmet hard neck garlic, louffa, blueberries and other seasonal vegetables. Farm tours are by appointment only. |
