Well, I'm sad to say I won't be moving tomorrow. The mover was rescheduled for October 4, and I'm staying optimistic, but cautiously. Kitchen appliances were delivered Friday, and my builders were back to start finishing touches such as stairways, dryer vent, etc. The hardwood flooring install will start tomorrow, and Tuesday, interior trim and doors arrive. Carpet is scheduled for the following week. I have to be out of the rental house by October 15. I've given notice, and my landlord has found a new tenant waiting for me to exit. I may be moving in with no cabinets or sinks, but as long as I have floors, I'm in. We'll see...

The 25 baby chicks are about 2 months old now and living in a comfy brooder in the hen house. One, whose name is still being debated but might be Speckles, is very friendly. This is the first time we've had a chicken that wanted to be a pet. Connor puts his hand in the brooder, wiggles his fingers, and she comes running. SInce she was a day old chick she has done this. The others just look curiously or scatter. She loves to sit on his shoulder and eat out of his hand.
Horses eat a lot. Shilo and Freckles had cleaned up the lower field, so once again it was time to move. We added about an acre to the 4 acre sheep field, and the horses moved in. They look like they love it. So far, the sheep are keeping their distance. We'll see how they like their new field mates. Meanwhile, back at the house... the yard is torn up once again. The Septic system and the EarthLink Geothermal HVAC are going in. Its a good time for Connor to practice his long jumping skills.
